I’ve been in Japan over a month and have observed people’s hand washing patterns over 100+ times now. People are fucking disgusting. Tourists and local alike. I’ve seen zero peple wash their hands properly. Zero. I carry soap with me. I worked in a lab all through college so proper handwashing it ingrained in me and after covid it should be top of mind for everyone. 25% of women skip washing their hands all together. Most Japanese women run their fingers only under the water for 3 seconds. Most tourists rinse their hands for 5 seconds. I’m not touching anyone here. Yall nasty.

I wash my hands extensively and I watch people be fascinated by it. But it’s like 30 seconds not 5 minutes. I wait for my Apple Watch to tell me I’m good.
