Yesterday, I proposed splitting the "External cast data" FIP into two items. 

1. Longer Casts, for medium size posts (1k char casts) 
2. External cast data, for true long form content (10k+ char posts) 

The Longer Casts FIP is ready for review. It's a simple change and we plan to move quickly if there is consensus.
