NBA ratings are down 48% since 2012. Down 28% this year alone on ESPN. Every other sports league is setting ratings records. https://t.co/5jnWVafcFB

Fascinating, especially given NBA has never had more talent across the board. What made the NBA unwatchable for me was the endless foul baiting. Things actually got better once that was taken care, so there's hope that a solution can be found to bring back shot diversity. They could test out subtracting one point for a missed 3pt attempt at Summer League. Heaving contest triples is basically equivalent to a guess on a multiple choice test. Why not penalize it?

I’m assuming you loved Prime James Harden 😂 Penalizing people for missing 3’s is interesting. I would love to watch that. One of the most entertaining parts of bball is the poster dunks, this is mostly negated by modern day charge calls. Never been a fan of these as it opens the player who’s mid air to injury. Remove the charge and the game opens up for these high flying fun highlights that people love.

Interesting. I saw Simmons mention an idea that’s kinda fun where teams are only allowed X amount of 3pfg attempts per game. If any 3 is made beyond that it counts for 2.

Could see that working. Would also add some end of game Intrigue. I can imagine a scenario where a team is down 3 but doesn't have any 3pt shots left. But I do wonder if they'd still take corner 3s even if worth 2.
