Farcaster

I'm sick of the financial nihilism on X so I'm going to be more active here instead. 

Farcaster feels different, a place where builders are building a new way to align incentives between one another. I think that's what excites me most about it, but it still feels like it hasn't been unlocked yet.

X lets you tune your algo pretty nicely, though.

On my Twitter "For You", there's almost no financial nihilism.

On the other hand, Farcaster is still bound to a rough equivalent of "Following". No good mechanism for discovery.

Net result for me: Farcaster actually feels more mercenary than Twitter.

It's different in that there's more of a LinkedIn American startupper vibe here. More virtue signaling, but still very much financial nihilists.

i.e. the latest viral thing out of this place is a phone app where you trade memes on Solana... By definition a negative sum game.

Lots of "builders" professing their newfound love for Solana too.

I would love to see better ways for good quality content to emerge organically on Farcaster. I know it's out there.

I agree with this, less truth seekers and more signaling. I think the incentives still very PvP here, interested to see how they can become PvE with the right incentives
