All loyalty systems should be on a blockchain. This is one of the very few hills I will die on, it even motivated the one serious blockchain project I wanted to do (abandoned).

You look at something like Steam cards and it should be obvious the amount of wealth freer markets create. For incumbents as well!

It looks like they made a serious effort but struggle to find pmf yet. Goes to show, even though the idea is obvious, there is so much involved in making it happen for real.

10 years ago to this day I wrote a white paper on putting the airlines’ inventory on chain… back then using colored coins lol. We didn’t even have Ethereum! Since then I think Winding Tree has been doing something similar for hotel inventories. Bypass the middlemen (GDS)
