Speculating about the EigenLayer airdrop here: i) Do you think Points obtained through LRTs should hold the same airdrop value as those from vanilla, native restaking? ii) Should early deposits be valued at the same rate as deposits made these days? Tough decisions ahead the Eigen team.

Valuing points differently based on provenance seems untenable socially. Early deposits have accumulated more points by virtue of time, so valuing them at a different rate is unnecessary. Points as is have a natural balancing effect. Messing with that strikes me as counterproductive.

Totally agree with the provenance point. While I'm on the fence about early deposits, my process: an early stage deposit faced more reputation and technical risks (given EigenLayer's lower hype then) compared to a large sum deposit recently. Don't you agree?

I think your reasoning makes sense. Nonetheless simplicity is often best, both mechanically and socially. I feel the moment you give users a tracked metric like points, there's an implicit assumption 1 POINT = 1 POINT. Breaking this invariant generates controversy.

Not to mention possible secondhand effects. i.e., secondary markets like Pendle where people trade points for yield. The complexity of tracking all of this can balloon up in exponential ways.
