you can waste a lot of time wondering if your thoughts are true, your mind will always tempt you into that discussion, however its all a ruse to detach from your emotions; truth or not, thoughts are no more than words, and if they are not good or constructive to you, free yourself

Yeah - but for a long time psychotherapy/self reflection was portrayed as "do it all the time!!!!" More recently its been shown that's actually not a good idea lmao. Feels like ppl knew that to some level intuitively but were pushed in the wrong direction

for sure! I think the idea is to let go of thoughts that nudge you to the wrong direction (esp bc thoughts aren’t always a reliable narrator),& this could be a good way to keep a check on it! not like a 24/7 on switch, but more like a check in switch for when you feel like you’re getting a lil carried away

Yup agreed. Depending on how long the issue lasts I'll eventually write it down to clarify thoughts but if its just smth short term I just try to move on and not think about it much. I've also found days I dont take my adhd medication these thoughts increase so intuitively feels like it just happens out of boredom
