Proximity bonus is interesting I believe I read that Peter Thiel offered an extra $1k per month for those living like a 15 min walk from the office

I've seen proximity bonuses from 20-30k in NYC. Unlike an annual bonus, it's not dependent on company performance based on ARR (volatile from seed to series B plus macro market), protecting both employer and employee. It's ideal for founding teams to enhance collaboration, communication, and performance. It incentivizes and doesn't penalize people across the different life stages, from post-grads moving to a city to parents (think senior-level talent) who could use that for child care.
