One app thesis actually makes some sense. There is enormous cognitive overhead to open another app when there is an overlap of information/content between them. I remember back at around /farcon we had been absolutely crushed by /warpcast in terms of people stop using and finding anything useful on /interface and defaulting to Warpcast, including myself. I guess many have recently felt the switching cost between X and Warpcast. But on our side we shall try our best to continue shipping quality experience to help people discover what is happening on /ethereum, even that we are like 100x less funded, I don't believe it is all about the moneys. We care about /ethereum and want to make it great. In order to have a chance we must keep our focus, stay true to our vision and grind. Still hopeful we could compete against /warpcast, not /farcaster. There is also a potential future where many apps thesis wins in crypto.

thanks for the response, i'm glad this conversation is happening in public i have respect for anyone who builds a product in this space. it's difficult at best. i believe there is room for many apps to find an audience. it's not zero sum. and it can feel unfair when there are others who have more resources. but i worry that the perception that warpcast can't or shouldn't compete with other products simply because they are also authoring the protocol is misleading.

Nothing is more fair than having more resources, that’s the entire goal of the game to gather required resources and win.

I don’t think Warpcast isn’t competing with Interface because of builder “bro code”, they have intentionally different audiences. Interface is leaning heavily into existing crypto audience FOMo culture while FC seems to be trying to build a “anyone can use blockchain” app. Ultimately they have different theses on the path to adoption, and I suspect there’s room for both. Not only that, trying to serve both audiences under one app would be difficult IMHO.

Warpcast being in a position to cannibalize everyone in the farcaster ecosystem in the first place is a perfect example of misaligned incentives and coordination failure
