the most generative constraint for me personally has been not having a lot of money really glad I did NOT hit some huge win on memecoins, I've seen a couple people who I see as talented "could build something" types do this and they haven't shipped anything embrace your conditions, capital is a tool. if its available to you, use it. if its not, forget about it. whatever perfect idea you have that requires a ton of capital is probably not so great actually. i might even argue taking the $ away will probably force you to be more realistic and to execute. when I think about funding I think about removing the basic barriers to focusing time and attention on a problem, not racks on racks

It fuels me when people dismiss what I'm working on. Just means there's an opportunity others don't see yet. Many dismissed when I joined Coinbase in 2014. Feel the same joining Farcaster in 2025 with opportunity cost of running my own business. Take big swings when you see it :)

can barely get a cast in during the day (is this what locked in feels like?) so sharing some random late night observations on my mind: - people who have opinions > people who don't have opinions, even if their opinions differ from my own - current trend cycles are exhausting, both in crypto but even more so outside of crypto; gen Z is starting to rebel against micro trends and instead invest in developing and defining their own, more durable personal style. i am HERE for this. - Lena Dunham just launched a Substack, sigh. i was so excited when Pamela Anderson did it, so why does this one bore me? - Sporty and Rich founder Emily Oderg is using OnlyFans (yes!! OF!!) as a marketing channel because she believes that's where lifestyle campaigns (getting flagged on instagram) will live. hmm. - dating shift of online-to-offline; curated matchmaking platforms are in hot demand again. people want to feel something (like really feel) IRL again.

Sending people money is one of the best ways to support ppl Other mechanisms that have been meaningful for me personally on Farcaster - $degen /degen tips especially my /microsub tippers recently! - /hypersub really the foundation of so much for me. Not only capital but network too. Not “over” but paused for now until I bring the Stu to the next stage. - investment - from entities like /degendao - grants @base @jacek @purple - promotion @gmfarcaster, @pauline-unik /los-fomos @nonlinear.eth @jackwyldes.eth, even just sharing an idea or a mini essay like /skininthegame did early - patronage. people like @wake and @purp and @shiiiiison.eth and @jpfraneto.eth and @coopahtroopa.eth and @saxenasaheb taking long term bets on me without real expectation of specific return, but with genuine hope for my growth.
