In 2010, a programmer named Laszlo Hanyecz made history by conducting the first real-world transaction using Bitcoin. Craving some pizza, he posted on a Bitcoin forum, offering 10,000 BTC in exchange for two large pizzas. A fellow forum member accepted the offer, and the pizzas were delivered to Hanyecz's door. At the time, the 10,000 BTC was worth about $41. Fast forward to today, those same Bitcoins would be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. This quirky transaction is now celebrated annually by the crypto community as "Bitcoin Pizza Day," a reminder of both the humble beginnings and the unpredictable journey of cryptocurrencies.
