Haha, totally agree, Coinbase is part of a consortium that agrees to use patents only defensively (or to eliminate patent trolls): https://www.coinbase.com/blog/a-playbook-for-fighting-patent-trolls Software patents are broken, this is the best way to ensure they aren’t used against the crypto world

I expect Coinbase will be there for the long haul, and similarly any patents filed under Quilibrium will similarly be under strict defense. Thankfully MPC is a very unexplored field for patents, and trolls simply don’t possess the understanding to come up with garbage to fling at companies, but if that day ever comes
