Holubtsi were among the dishes my grandmother cooked when I was growing up (I used to eat only home cooked holubtsi thatβs why even now I never buy semi finished ones, sometimes the cooking process takes a lot of time but the taste is definitely worth it) So these cabbage rolls are like a big and pleasant memory! Holubtsi are traditional Ukrainian cabbage rolls stuffed with rice and meat, usually served in a tomato sauce. Every family has its own recipe and it may vary but I prefer to make them small and the tomato sauce should be a little bit sweet, thatβs why I add some sugar!
