That's awesome - me too. I hadn't seen the remake. My first business partner, and dear friend (he was much older than me at the time, I was like 20 and he was 40) in one of his <prior career life>'s played one of the Wilberforces in the original television series (1981). The driver. 🫠

my fake dad (ironic for self-selected) worked on the sets of the original – he built the amazing slides to Rangitoto. His mum was Billy T James manager. I was super excited to meet Chic Littlewood at their wedding aha – I even still have a photo of me way back then at that wedding

What fantastic memories @pentacle Working in the set design workshops of TVNZ in the 80's must have been wild. Paul regaled me with many stories of that time. The budget was there to do all sorts of crazy shit (and a lot of horsing around) - there was "slack" and "fat" in the system - still a little "BBC out in the colonies" before modern Management Consulting kicked in and NZ restructured itself to "get with" the modern world...for better AND worse.

Chic Littlewood!!! Billy T Oh the nostalgia. (What a special, and different, time and place, before the worm and the world turned)
