Discriminating against VPN usage is ridiculous!

In fact… more people should be using VPNs

More VPN usage = more Internet freedom!

Even most traditional banks don’t block VPN usage

Coinbase is basically a bank, which is fine, but the moment your company starts touching USD, you become beholden to a massive set of arcane and often conflicting rules. AML/KYC sucks, and there's a lot of annoying wording about "best effort" etc, and lawyers tend to feel like blocking VPNs is an obvious win.

If Coinbase wants to continue to act as a primary off-ramp, they have to play by these stupid rules, and that's okay. Don't get mad at Coinbase, get mad at the US legal system.
