As someone with a law degree this is embarrassing. “So we can each get back to-“ Counsel you’re the one overzealously interrupting anyone here. 

Generic trademarks being overlawyered is one of my biggest pet peeves and a huge problem in the IP system. We reward mid-upper class investors like Figma’s shareholders and salaried counsel for going after the little guys.

That just feels like the kind of professional mark sniping for keywords while they can scare indie devs off from using similar words we studied in my doctorate.

Dev Mode as a wordmark seems way too generic honestly without disclaiming the words.

Worst part is it's not that new and agree with the playful language being there.  Seems there would be plenty of historical references to this term.

Ahhh yeah. We talked a lot about these kind of “IP Troll” strategies way back in like 2015 but back then my papers were mostly focused on YouTube content ID “trolling” — we will probably need to look out for the same as the indie dev economy is massive and growing like fire like the old artists markets of web2.

The megalodons have a limited lifespan but they will still try to isolate and feast on the small and many for their pockets.
