In an account of someone's ~30 minute demo of Vision Pro, I read that Apple employees are shying away from using the term avatars in favor of personas so Apple might leave multiplayer "bodies" and many interactions to third-party developers such as VRChat

He’s kind of right though: the FaceTime calls was just faces in boxes, same as we have now (except floating in space). And Freeform collaboration was not any different from current remote collaboration (me on my iPad, you on your Mac). All Apple Vision features are basically “single player” right now.
