What’s a web3 sector that took too long or hasn’t lived up to the hype? 

Enough so that you got disillusioned and moved on?

For me it’s tokenized real world assets.

For others, it’s self sovereign identity, DAO coordination, merchant payments, governance, scalability, etc

It's interesting because MakerDAO made big recent plays on RWAs. Do you think it's simply the products so far haven't been scalable/consumer focused?

I think RWAs require legal contracts and processes for securitization and liquidation that mostly cancel out the benefits of being onchain in the first place. 

Which is why natively digital assets (tokens, NFTs, gaming, etc) have worked much better in DeFi and crypto commerce.
