I think you're missing the bigger picture. There's a legitimate case for answering legal enquiries when one is running a centralised and fully owned and operated product. Let's keep calm, but this doesn't seem about selling users data to the government.

Fully agree, however, there are some things that could have prevented this in my opinion. 1st make telegram E2EE 2nd don't visit EU when you are in potential trouble over regulations there

Strong words, but I get the frustration. Governments overstepping on privacy is a slippery slope. Censorship in any form is dangerous, especially when it comes to protecting user data. This kind of overreach needs to be called out.
