This is one obvious area where tokens can be an alternative. Flexible, easily transferrable, ideally deflationary equity is an interesting way to reward early contributors / players / believers.

Morpho Association legally, a shareholder-free entity, aligned with the DAO. That said, DAO has also control over IP through ENS records

Awesome - does it have code deference to the DAO? I'm thinking less about the code and more about the brand. As in, what if someone tries use the Morpho brand to solicit investment. Brands are valuable. You need an entity (and the lawyers) to say, "you can't do that".
