Fiction: The Stand by Stephen King (about an epidemic, don’t read much else as I feel like the excerpt gives away way to much imo) 
Non fiction: The WEIRDest People in the World by Henrich (sociology and the western mind), The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rubin (on living a creative life)

Hard agree! Mind sharing books you'd classify as 'great' that you've read recently?

Took me a while but I eventually learned how to give up on a book and leave it unfinished.
