Lillian F. Schwartz (born 1927) is an American artist considered a pioneer of computer-mediated art and one of the first artists notable for basing almost her entire oeuvre on computational media. Many of her ground-breaking projects were done in the 1960s and 1970s.

Very happy to see this here. I have this book and it was on my list to post. Lillian F. Schwartz has been, in my opinion, a bit overlooked. The computer animation work she did with Kenneth Knowlton at Bell Labs is very is radical and aesthetically strong. Her work has stood the test of time well. 25 $degen

Yay! Another human paying attention. I I agree with all your points. I did a thread on X last week about her various outputs that got 1 like. (so depressing!) I feel very lucky to have gotten a signed first edition, too. Hopefully more ppl will come around.
