The art and the experience. Just got my first tattoo today. I wanted to get it to celebrate the life of a friend I lost. This is how he used to sign off on his emails.

both! I got my first tattoo at 18, it was a 10 1/2 hour backpiece and I researched the specific artist for a year beforehand. The art was incredibly important to me but what they represented was more important. The experience was pretty magical though, she tattooed out of a private studio in Byron Bay✨

When I was younger and getting my first tattoo it was about the experience and each tattoo since has evolved to be centered around the art itself - last two tattoos now have been my own art!
