My best friend, an NYU film school graduate in student debt, is trying to raise funding for his short film. As I learn more about shorts, it's clear this medium has practically 0 commercial opportunity. Which makes funding extremely difficult. The film is being supported by a non-profit which make donations eligible for a write off. Beyond that, the incentives in this space are terrible. I find it crazy that in this new era of short form video content, there's no marketplace for well produced narrative story telling. I wonder if an onchain strategy could be a solution?

Totally agree. Iโve been saying this for years. Like, why not have a hub on any streamer that is just for short films or indie films?

Yea that was my thought too. Even a platform like letterboxd could make sense if they wanted to do some streaming.

Absolutely. You tie a free ad tier to that and youโd turn a profit. Buy up a huge library of shorts no one wants and make them available to people. Theyโd be watched. ๐ฅโจ
