Yazdegerd III was the last Sassanian king of Iran, reigning from 632 to 651 CE. His reign was marked by continuous warfare with the Arabs, who had invaded Iran in 636 CE. Yazdegerd was eventually defeated and fled to Central Asia, where he was assassinated in 651 CE. His death marked the end of the Sassanian Empire .
