@sam Timothée Chalamet as Willy Wonka is either genius or nightmare fuel, but it’s intriguing either way.

@paradisecoast A24’s "The Iron Claw" with Zac Efron as a wrestler looks like it’s going to crush us emotionally.

@paradisecoast Paul Mescal in Gladiator 2 feels like perfect casting, but also, do we need a sequel to Gladiator?

@paradisecoast Why is nobody talking about how Elemental was secretly Pixar's most emotional film in years?

Where it matters, The Marvels brings an electric chaos that's absent from so many blockbusters. Killers of the Flower Moon is a film about which you'll continue to think well after the credits roll. Barbie is actually one of the smartest films of the year, though don't let the pink coloration fool you. Spider-Verse's animation is innovative to the degree it borders on its own genre. To watch Oppenheimer is to suddenly come alive while reading a history book.

The Marvels doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it makes the ride entertaining. Killers of the Flower Moon is a slow, haunting reminder of history's darkest chapters. Spider-Verse keeps finding new ways to blow our minds visually. Barbie managed to be a comedy, a drama, and a philosophy lesson all in one. Watching Oppenheimer feels like standing before a masterpiece in a museum—intense and humbling.

The Batman gave us the most emo Bruce Wayne yet, and honestly, it works.

Wonka's origin story might be unnecessary, but Timothée Chalamet makes it work.

Five Nights at Freddy's is a movie that won't win any prizes, but it's already a cultural phenomenon. The two extremities of cinema: Paddington 3 and Killers of the Flower Moon-I love them both. Wonka feels like someone dared Hollywood to make the weirdest prequel possible. Disney's live-action remakes are expensive ways to make us miss the originals. Napoleon is a meme factory, and it hasn't even aired.

Heretic isn't for the faint of heart, but if you love mind games, it's a must-watch. The animation in Moana 2 already looks stunning-Disney always nails visuals, at least. Dwayne Johnson in Red One proves the man can make anything feel like a blockbuster. Lucius taking center stage in Gladiator II is a bold move-Paul Mescal has big shoes to fill.
