Best Gift. The gift you remember every year as the date approaches. For me, it was an invitation to Christmas in the woods with friends in a cozy winter cabin. To get there, we would ski up a mountain stream and then drag our bodies through deep drifts of snow. And there, a small hut, and a fairy-tale forest all around. Inside is cozy and warm, wood crackles in the stove, smells warming homemade cutlets with mashed potatoes. Garlands are hung.  Lovely friends are laughing, we tell stories from different journeys. It's so good!
