Morning pages first thing in the morning is interesting because I usually don’t have a lot of thoughts first thing, sometimes my brain still feels asleep lol So it kinda feels counter intuitive for me to brain dump first thing than when I start having thoughts later. But I guess it’s supposed to free up your mind for the rest of the day? Idk what are you guy’s thoughts on this.

I do my morning pages in the night, I tried a lot but it takes me a good hour or two to start getting warmed up in my day and it feels counterproductive to spend so much energy first thing in the morning writing about my feelings. Acc to me it has a similar effect, I do it right before sleep and it also helps me sleep better.

I love that you do it in a way that works best for you. I think for me what’s best is sometime in the morning but not first thing. Cause I don’t like it hanging over my head the whole day and doing it before going to bed pushes back my bed time. I might try to just do quick journaling before bed time to review my day check in on how I’m feeling at the end of the day and if I achieved goals etc but more like a goal thing that’s shorter and not 3 pages. I appreciate you sharing though cause it helped me see some of the benefits I get from brain dumps at night too.
