Holy shit, the top of Khardung La is at 17,852ft of elevation?? Did you go all the way to the top in one drive?

I went back in 2008 (which is an eternity ago at this point). My favs were Lake Pangong and the drive to the top of Khardung La. City of Leh is also v cool and there was a monastery (forgetting the name now) which I liked. 

I’ve heard since then Pangong has gotten really touristy so might want to check on that
