Christine Lagarde is a French politician and economist who has served as President of the European Central Bank (ECB) since November 2019. Before that, she was Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 2011 to 2019. She previously served as France’s Minister of Finance, Industry and Trade and is regarded as one of the world’s most influential economic figures. She is the first woman to lead one of the world’s major monetary institutions.
