You can drastically reduce the size of your animated images by using Screen2GIF. Open up the editor, delete any frames that aren't needed, and just set the delay on frames that you want to keep visible for more than an instant. cut animated images to much less than 1/2 their original size.
Also, I recommend saving to animated PNG or a video format, both of which Screen2GIF supports.
