Should our space focus more on "extending onchain guarantees offchain" versus attempting to "bring everything onchain"?

hmm, i think i prefer to bring everything onchain. Rollups are blockchains, so they count as "on-chain", right?

Unlike lightning network, which is more of a true "off-chain" scaling system, and unfortunately it's pretty bad for some important use-cases like private payments (as an excersize to the reader, think about how to add privacy to lightning or Plasma)
