This week I built:
- I Co-Hosted base East Africa AMA session behind the Tanzania Base community page, contributed by addressing issues surrounding Base-builds, focusing on how builders can earn while continuing to develop on the Base
I also shared insights on the state of Base in East Africa, highlighting the region's growing interest and potential. I emphasized key areas for builders to focus on, such as Stablecoins, ai agents , creators etc, which are crucial for creating more accessible and practical use cases. Additionally, I discussed the opportunities ahead, including the untapped potential for localized blockchain solutions, increased adoption of decentralized applications, and the importance of community-driven initiatives to onboard more users into the Base ecosystem.

This week I built;
Developer's Guide: Deploying Smart Contracts and Building Applications on Base.
To deploy smart contracts and build applications on Base, Coinbaseโs Layer 2 blockchain, youโll need basic Ethereum knowledge, tools like Hardhat, and a wallet like MetaMask. Start by setting up your environment: install Node.js, npm, and Hardhat, then configure Baseโs network in hardhat.config.js.
Write your Solidity smart contract, compile it using Hardhat, and create a deployment script to deploy it to Base. Test your contract locally and on the Base Goerli testnet before deploying to the mainnet.
To build a frontend, use React with ethers.js for interaction. Deploy your application using services like Vercel or IPFS. Optimize and monitor your app using tools like Blockscout. Base provides a scalable, cost-effective platform for developing decentralized applications with ease.
