revealed behaviours from separate trips to Punta Cana (Excellence El Carmen, Imperial) and Tahiti (St Regis Bora Bora, Overwater Royal) past few weeks/months:

1. Dominican is full of (old aged) Americans; very few/no Asians, Arabs or Europeans whereas Tahiti is mostly asian, arabs and tons of europeans/russians

2. Americans are nice to the working staff. they compensate for their lack of knowledge/culture. rest are nice-ish but snobish. they "work the man", exactly like i saw growing up

3. Americans have low standards of luxury. They are "this is amazing" with everything. Rest are pretty particular. they know good vs meh. they express it

4. Europeans and now i noticed asians are particular about their alcohol. Americans are like, give me whatever in the name of alcohol and keep me drunk 



this is an unfair comparison b/c one was $5k/night vs other $1k but even the americans we came across in FP were pretty meh. seems if "you make it" in US, you end up with yachts/islands or are a weird middle class
