I'm thrilled to announce "Metta", launching as the first project on the groundbreaking platform @intrinsicdotart ! (minting 4/30/24) In Metta and on intrinsic, the traits are the ideas that empower the art, and it's the collectors who make each piece and can control the traits...

Metta is an exploration of the interconnected world. The patterns created reflect life’s intricate web, showing how individual entities form a cohesive whole. The animation brings these connections to life, illustrating the dynamic nature of relationships. a couple testnet frames:

Metta will mint 256 ERC-721 tokens on @base network, but there's a ton more to it! Before I get into that, here's some links: My site and writeup - https://matto.xyz/project/metta/ Metta on intrinsic - https://intrinsic.art/project/1 Essay on malleable genart - https://paragraph.xyz/@matto/malleable-generative-art

It's hard to explain just how different this project and http://intrinsic.art really are... For starters, when you mint, you don't get a completely random token, you select the traits (from those still available...) and generate a hash to see the result before minting.

Very, very interesting. Some of my first thoughts, maybe you have answers, why do the individual traits have different edition sizes? What if someone collects all editions of one trait - then no one else could actually assemble any of the generative tokens? Also why would you price a trait more than another?

Thanks for diving in! A couple points on trait purchases. First, during the initial dutch auction, we limit purchases to whole artworks (one trait from each category). Depending on supply and demand, some traits within a category may sell out before others, so there is incentive to purchase your favorite traits early.

Once the auction is at resting, users can buy any individual traits remaining. At that point, someone could possibly mint more traits from one category than another, leaving leftover unused traits. We don't think someone would intentionally pay to over-mint traits, but if it becomes an issue, we'll revisit that.
