The Zora Saga: A Quick Reality Check
I’m not here to hate, just to point out a few uncomfortable truths.
Zora started as an NFT platform. Minting was cheap, the vibe was creative, and it felt like a win for artists. But behind the hype, things weren’t as fair as they seemed. “Free” mints always came with a fee. Some of us spent thousands collecting. I remember when Jacob was minting his horse art those sold like crazy, and I don’t doubt he made a fortune.
Then, sometime last year, a portion of those collected fees was redistributed but only to a select few. No transparency, no open distribution.
Fast forward: Zora launches its own chain, pushes projects like $ENJOY (and another I can’t even remember), which quickly went to zero. Now? They’ve turned Zora into a memecoin printer.
the $ZORA airdrop? After all the minting I did, I got about $20. Twenty dollars.
This feels like max extraction with minimal reward for the community that built the hype.
