Doesn't the Trump plan only cut taxes for the rich? That won't help most people spend. I hope he does more direct cash stimulus like last time that would be much more helpful.

We tried that, it doesn't work and likely has the opposite effect. Marginal propensity to consume is bananas right now.

Not sure what that term is but the graph seems to show that things are more expensive (expenditures higher) but disposable income is right about zero. Which tracks for me, my rents gone up about 50% the past 3 years not to mention everything else so my budgets gone underwater even though my income went up. And a lot of people are in the same boat. We can't afford to live at these prices. So what's the answer to that? Certainly not tax cuts for the rich or tariffs. He's going to have to do something to help regular folks.
