In 1988, Trump bought New York's famous Plaza Hotel, appointed his wife Ivana as its manager, and invested $50 million in renovations. This photo was taken in 1994, showing employees cheering Trump's refusal to sell the hotel to the Sultan of Brunei for $300 million. A year later, Saudi Prince Alwaleed bought a controlling stake in the Plaza for $325 million.
