ℹ️ Free $BTC - the bug of the century on #CoinEx 🤪 In 2019, the cryptocurrency exchange CoinEx experienced an incident related to a technical glitch, as a result of which some users became millionaires 🐦⬛️ Key points: 🔵Due to a technical error in the CoinEx system, users were able to place orders to buy $BTC at a zero price 🔵People bought tons of $BTC until the exchange noticed and rolled back the transactions 🔵Some particularly smart people managed to withdraw part of the funds through mixers - after which the exchange sued them for several years While the exchange quickly fixed the problem and took measures to prevent similar situations from happening again, this incident serves as a reminder of the need for continuous improvement of security systems
