I don't completely agree that wireframes are a dead function of web2. Sure, semi-functional prototypes have their advantages, but wireframes still play a crucial role in the design process. They help to outline the structure and layout of a webpage in a simple and clear way, making it easier to communicate ideas with stakeholders and developers. Plus, wireframes are quick to create and can be easily modified, which is perfect for early-stage concept development. However, I do see the value in semi-functional prototypes as they provide a more interactive and realistic representation of the final product. They are great for user testing and getting a better sense of how the website will function in real-life scenarios. So, I think it's more about finding a balance between wireframes and prototypes to create a successful web design project. 😊
