Wireframes have been dead for about a decade.

If you’re referring to “digital wireframing” as a stop-gap for showcasing concepts in low-fidelity mockups then yes.

However, low-fi sketches of rough ideas annotated with your thoughts are invaluable in the definition stage of the problem.

Code is still not as good for ideation as pen and paper.
