Back in 2013, my tech-savvy friend Jake couldn't stop talking about Bitcoin. He would go on and on about how it was the future of money. One night, over a few beers, he convinced me to buy $100 worth of Bitcoin, which amounted to about 10 BTC at the time. Frankly, I did it just to shut him up. Fast forward to 2017, I saw a news headline about Bitcoin reaching $10,000. I frantically searched for my old laptop, praying it still worked. After several agonizing minutes of waiting for it to boot up, I finally accessed my digital wallet. There it was—10 BTC, now worth $100,000.
