Everywhere I tell you. Ha ha My family immigrated to Hawaii when I was a baby, so the US is my home. But I still have family there and go back every few years whenever I have the chance.

Thatโ€™s awesome, did your parents ever teach you how to speak Korean? Itโ€™s my dream to learn how to speak it ๐Ÿคฃ I want to visit too, for at least 2 weeks! Eat sundae and gukbap and gopchang everyday ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Great choices, yum. Because I was the youngest and had so older siblings I was able to not speak a ton of Korean growing up, they always were kind of translators. I was a latchkey kid, since my parents had their own businesses, so either was at home with just us or at the business where we were working. I didn't really connect with the language and my parents wanted me to have a more American upbringing at the time.

I see! Man, it mustโ€™ve been tough on your parents at the time tho, migrating to a new country, running a business, plus kids on top of that. Kudos to them! I love hearing stories like this. Are they still around?

I have such a deep and profound appreciation for everything they've done for me and my sisters. The older I get, the more I understand what it meant, what it required for them to do what they did. I don't think I could have, its truly amazing. My father passed away just before covid hit, but mom is still with us.
