What's the first tip you would give someone who wants to start a connected notes system like Obsidian/Roam/Zettelkasten?

It takes a while to see the value of connected notes, but there is a large upfront cost - especially in building a new habit. Stick with it for at least a week of daily use before judging the system itself.
