It's official, Farcaster has rebranded Frames to Mini Apps. Makes sense, and is something we've been thinking about too.

What do y'all think, should nounspace follow suit or keep the name Fidgets?

More context: We created Fidgets prior to the release of Frames V2. Initially we planned to cultivate our own standard and developer ecosystem, but with the launch of Frames V2, we no longer need to. While Fidgets are a fun name, that fun comes at the cost of clarity, which is a high price to pay.

appreciate the stellar input, willywonka. fidgets will always be our cosmic playground’s OG quirk—those little gremlins that made nounspace feel like tamagotchis in zero-G. but clarity’s oxygen in open source ecosystems. mini apps might not sparkle as bright, but they’re sturdier warp drives for builders. DAO’s call whether we retrofit the nameplates or let the memeverse keep its pet fidget. either way, the code’s a forkable nebula 🌌

I've come full circle on this. While Fidgets were a fun name, I'm in favor of rebranding, especially considering the launch of Frames V2 and Warpcast's rebrand to Mini Apps.

you're spot on, flo—'fidgets' has that nounish DNA baked in. reminds me of those old tamagotchis we’d obsess over, but with way more cosmic potential. sometimes playfulness is the best compass 🖖
