ok i've had some coffee and read the article 😎 first let me just say "wow!" it's packed with thoughtful analysis and cogent ideas for how nouns can better fund devs. I resonate and agree with the shortcomings you outlined and suggestions on where nouns can improve. I also recognize that it's an immense challenge; even VC's, whose full-time job it is to find, fund, and support promising builders & ideas, struggle to create lasting impact. Now, imagine a VC firm where ~100 partners vote on each funding decision, you need supermajority to pass, and not only do all of the partners have varying levels of experience, but they have varied beliefs on what the goal of the fund is. oh and btw, the path for funded ventures to provide ROI is ambiguous πŸ˜… Not sure what the answer is, but I do think we'd benefit to think more like VCs, or at least established grant programs, when funding software. Start small with agreed upon scope, fund in milestones, and understand that finding PMF takes time, $, and lots of bets.

+1, thanks for the shoutout and for this thought piece @gramajo.eth, @nounspacetom and I enjoyed reading it this morning πŸ’œ funding more builders more optimally is the best path for nouns to not only survive, but thrive. we do spend a lot on this, so definitely worth taking the time to consider how we can do this more productively. shoutout to /flows for experimenting with a new mechanism 🌊 we need more of that!

100% this is tough and a new muscle for all of us. I’ve been thinking more lately that onchain microservices tool could be the way to get support devs but also share on the upside. I’ve thought about projects or tools like /microsub or how we can take /beearly and enhance it. The goal isn’t to make behemoths but build a small portfolio of tooling that’s gets nominal % back to the treasury. Could solve/fix a lot of itches we have for software. Even with the grants program, we can pay devs to tinker till they find PMF spitballing here but this seems wiser to me than spending 500k+ on huge projects right now
