Thinking about digital identity or rather identity onchain — what are the big problems we’re trying to solve there?

Identity is based on the trust triangle:

1. issuer
2. Holder
3. Verifier

The key part of this triangle is the issuer. You need to get issuers people trust (eg bank) to make attestations.

You have to convince these slow moving institutions to add code to their servers to issue attestations.
