So let me preface this with "your coin; your rules" so this all certainly your call @betashop.eth re: /moxie but this seems a bit hasty. I've found that carrots tend to work better than sticks. So regarding this "we feel that $250 in rewards is a generous amount after which to require everyone to play in the system in order to continue earning," which on its face isn't unreasonable except some people have actually put in funds to support the experiment but are likely being swept up into this. No idea where I am in regards to rewards and haven't received this notice yet BUT I couldn't actually claim my airdrop when moxie first launched so I put in 1 eth of my own funds so that I could support the project and buy some fan tokens etc. (continued in replies)

continuing... EXCEPT I had to complete my claim in the frame to be able to that and because my airdrop was stuck, I couldn't. It took a while for me to finally dive into a pretty technical process to get my claim moved from the mainnet eth safe to my wallet so that I could actually claim and start to buy some fan tokens and support some of the creators on here. But honestly, I don't want to launch my own fan token. Just not something I want to do at this time. We may end up doing a channel one, but aren't ready to do this either yet. Being referred to as a "non-player" if I don't launch a fan token but have purchased and locked many plus put in 1 eth of my own funds feels bad tbh. And doesn't motivate me to want to actually launch a fan token -- quite the opposite. So maybe give this a think along with the feedback from others who have been buying fan tokens but don't want to launch their own -- there might be a better approach to reach the same goal of sustainability.

And spoke too soon β€” this was in my dm’s so there we go. Hoping a reversal is made but if not, it is what it is.

hi πŸ‘‹ First of all, thank you for supporting the Moxie Protocol - we appreciate you! Jumping in to chat and clarify a couple aspects of the recent change we introduced - requiring to hold a Fan Token for everyday rewards after earning ~$250 worth of rewards. First, you are not excluded from participating in the protocol - both buying & locking FT, or being an LP provider - both have their own benefits and work alongside everyday rewards. Allow me to briefly explain the difference between holding FT’s vs. having your own FTs. When you hold FTs, you get many benefits, including any price increases when people buy that FT, and price increases when the subject of that FT earns rewards. This is not impacted in any way by your having or not having your own FT. Whenever someone earns Moxie rewards a percentage is automatically used to buy/burn their FT for the benefit of their fans. 1/2
