Imagine you’re an air traffic controller coming off a bajillion hour work week to this email, knowing your livelihood depends on how your reply to said email is judged by some code written by a child cybercriminal named Big Balls. I mean honestly. They should all quit. It’s what anyone with dignity would do.

Normally I would agree with Nounish but in this case I feel like the only power to be had is in something akin to a general strike. 100% of these people should leave.

yes, if you can get a mass walkout/strike that would be great -- but highly unlikely -- so if faced with a choice to take a package and resign, don't. There's be no funds put aside for this so no guarantee you'll be paid a severance so it's pretty risky. But if you're fired, and it violates your CBA/contract or civil service laws, you have recourse. If you quit, you don't. But the urge to resign is going to be hard to battle.
