Honest question for podcasters out there, I listen to a lot of pods, never paid for one. If I can watch/listen to your podcast for free on YT or Spotify, why would I mint it or own your token to get access? My guess is distribution, but also that the number of people willing to routinely pay for podcast content is small. Am I right? wrong? Change my mind

We don't expect anyone will mint every episode (but we do airdrop to our hypersub) but some epsidoes may be future valuable collectibles, especially certain interviews or special episodes. We've also activated episodes for access to events and have a few other plans along those lines as well. We see this the same as why do people collect vinyl still when they can stream an album/song for free? Not everyone will want to but for those who appreciate a collectible version, we make it available. Also -- you can watch the episode in your wallet. Right now, is this the best way to view/listen? Nope. But we have no idea what will be developed in the future. It's also similar to the argument for any nft really. If I can "right click save as" why would I mint? Because I want to own it and enjoy whatever benefits that ownership may bring. But we'd love you to listen for free and collect if you want to support to suppor the pod and own the episodes.

podcasts feel different than music to me, one is timeless and the other (usually) quite topical, so as time passes the value only decreases. But with onchain podcasts the genre hasn't existed long enough to see this really play out yet, I respect the possibility that it could
